Ever felt trapped?

images3.jpegEver been in church on a Sunday morning, sitting in the pew, looking up at a pastor speaking. Looking down the long row to your left and right. Not really being able to turn around, for whatever reason. Ever sat there and felt like you had something to say to the whole church, maybe God had laid something on your heart and you just want to tell the whole church. But you can’t. It’s not possible. The preacher has the floor. You’re stuck in the row facing the front of the building and the backs of the people in front of you. If you try to stand up and walk to the ailse you’ll have to ask atleast ten people to excuse you, and then you’ll have to walk to the front of the church, climb up on stage, take the mic and make your announcement. Ever wondered why it would be that hard and probably even harder. Ever wonder why our churches are physically laid out the way that they are?

Just asking.

  1. I am right there with you. Not that ive felt like I should get up and be the pastor but I always felt a little trapped. alot like school, only in church there is no desk full of stuff to mess with.

For my own reasons i havnt been to church in a long time, but I’ll take a bible study any day.

by the way, that line, “Brody versus the cow” I like it. 🙂

  2. Great point. It can feel like an institution at times. I’m going somewhere with this post soon, I promise.
