All songs considered.

My friend Ron came through with some free tickets to see REO Speedwagon, Styx, and Def Leopard last night. So I went. Hey, I love music, especially live, and Def Leopard was one of my favorite bands in the eighth grade. The show was OK, Styx stole the show, but Ron turned me onto NPR’s all songs considered podcast. Free concerts on itunes by bands such as RIlo Kiley, Spoon, Wilco, and two of my favorite bands, Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai. Do yourself a favor and head to itunes to check it out.

Oh and thanks for the tickets and the lead brother!

So if you know me, you know I breathe New York Yankees. Always have, always will. One of my top five dreams is to own the New York Yankees and hire Don Mattingly as their skipper. Dream big I say. If you know me, you also know that I believe the only thing better than a Yankee win is a red sux loss. So every time the red sux lose I’ll post their total games lost this season.

So here we go.

1 loss.

Man this makes me happy.

Go buy this!!

If you don’t, I know a great therapist that can help.

As moving as it gets.

Tracy and myself lead our churches youth worship teams. I was helping her record some tracks today and she told ma about a post that Los had put up. I can do this story no justice.

So watch this.

Music you may not have ever heard.

Brody has a pretty cool list going over at his blog of music you may have never heard. Check it out.

I just wanted to share this little video of, in my humble opinion, one of the most under rated bands out ther.

Enjoy.

Weekend recap.

This is Bush.

This is Spur58.

They just happened to be the worship band for the Student Life Tour. And they just happend to be down in Charlotte this weekend. So Suzanne and i took off to Charlotte on Friday afternoon to hang out with Bush for the evening. The church they were playing at was huge. And the crowd that had gathered was rather large as well. The guys in Spur58 play a small set on Friday nights so that allowed for Bush, Suzanne, and myself to get to hang a while and just talk. The three of us ended up at Buffallo Wild Wings and conversated for a couple of hours. Bush is a really neat guy and you all should check out his blog. Him and his wife have opened up their hearts and home and are adopting a child. There is a link to the left about their adoption process. I encourage you all to go over and show them some support by praying for them and buying a T Shirt from them as well. Suzanne and I had a great time meeting all the guys, but really enjoyed getting to know Bush. Hope to do it again soon.
While we were eating Tracy gave us a ring. THe place was loud and we were in converstaion so I didn’t answer it. Suzanne and I get back to the hotel, turn on CNN and find out that the hotel Tracy was staying in in Atlanta was ravaged by a tornado. Go to her blog for the updates.
Today, which is Sunday the little ones went to easter egg hunt, not full contact, at the church. Suzanne and the girls stayed on at the church with me all day and hung out while crossings was going on. We had a really powerful worship set tonight with the high schoolers. Those guys and gals in the band are great! Thanks guys for being a blessing in my life!

It’s late, I’m tired, and Lost is on the DVR.
Shalom.

Just setting the record a little straighter.

images1.jpegFor those who watch American Idol and and went nuts when Jason Castro did the song Hallelujah, here is a video of Jeff Buckley doing a version that blows my mind. The song itself is amazing and was written by Leonard Cohen. That Jason kid did an OK version, but Buckleys will chill you to the core. Amazing performance from a guy the music world lost way to soon. If you don’t know much about Jeff Buckley, I encourage yo to check out this site and buy all of his albums. You will not be disappointed and you may be changed a little.
